Happy Easter

I finished my Hey Teach! in time to wear to my mom’s today! I finished it up around 9pm last night. My favorite part is the vintage metal buttons.
(the pics make the ribbing at the waist look uneven, but it’s just the way it’s laying on my bed)

Details on my Ravelry page.

Yay for Fridays!

Today was a beautiful spring day here. Gorgeous sunshine, warm breezes, just perfect. Or it would be if there were leaves on the trees so I didn’t get sunburn on my nose 🙂

I’ve been knitting Hey Teach! from I started it the very last week of March, took a break to knit a baby sweater and have been working on a pair of Monkeys. Now I’m just working feverishly on the HT, hoping to get it done in time to wear to Easter. Yes. The day after tomorrow Easter. I have all the pieces knitted. Tomorrow I will block it out and start the seaming and knitting the button band. I’m still hopeful I will get it done in time for Easter. I may just be delusional….

The hubs & I stopped at the thrift store on the way home from some last minute Easter shopping. It was a good thing we did! They had a brand new Lego Creator set, unopened, for $2! My boys looooooove Legos. LOVE them. They have a bajillion already, but for $2 you can’t go wrong. We also scored a Video Now player w/ a Spongebob video in it for $2. Got home & put batteries in it and it works like a charm.  I was so excited about the finds I didn’t even look at the books, which is unheard of for me. Even hubs was astonished. I love thrift store finds, don’t you?

This blogging thing confounds me

I have tried various others over the years and I think I have figured out why I lose my motivation with them after a few months. I have this “category” mindset. After reading a few critiques on other blogs, about how some people hate reading about a blogger’s family antics in the middle of what they perceive as a knitting blog. After that I figured that’s the way readers like it. In neat little packages… one for crafts, one for frugality, one for homeschooling. I can’t keep up with various blogs o’ mine. I’ve decided enough is enough. This is my blog and I’ll put in it whatever I dang well please.

In this blog there will be knitting, crocheting, maybe a bit of sewing if I can ever figure out how to thread a bobbin correctly. There will be family antics and homeschool mumblings. There will be cooking and recipes, there will be freebie alerts, frugal living, yard sale/auction finds, etc. I may even babble on about a video game or book or two.

If any of that interests you, stick around.
